Fisherfield Trail Clearing
In April 2009 before any black flies were in sight, we embraced a new community event.~ A hardy group of NBC-ers and husbands were met by Newbury Recreational Director, Travis Dezotell, to clear a trail at Fisherfield Park. ~A quarter mile trail that leads from the park road to a lovely, large pond in the woods was chosen. ~Many members volunteered with rakes, clippers, tarps, and saws and worked diligently for almost three hours clearing leaves and branches from the trail. ~Sharing work together created an atmosphere of light hearted bantering making the work most enjoyable. After the work was completed, everyone was invited to a member’s home for hot dogs and potato salad. ~The weather was balmy as we were shared our first cookout of the year. ~ We always need many volunteers to help with this project
again.
