NEWBURY RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MAY 12, 2008 AT FISHERSFIELD PARK 7 PM

Everyone was very pleased with the progress of the Fishersfield Park Project. Dedication will be on Old Home Day, with the time to be determined. The Triathlon on July 12th, Old Home Day, will culminate at Fishersfield Park.
Plans are being made for a "community" work day at Fishersfield, hoping to get everyone excited and involved.
Rec. Department events at Old Home Day: Little Red Wagon at 5 pm, Dunk Tank, Triathlon, kids games, and Fishersfield Dedication. Little Red Wagon is booked, and planning for the Dunk Tank will be discussed at the next meeting. Liability for kids in the Dunk Tank to be checked out.
Swim Program with Signe Linville will have a new time and two locations. July 7th to 11th at Newbury Town Dock and July 14th to July 18th at the Town Dock at Blodgett's landing 11am to 2 pm.
Summer camp - Mom's afternoon off - Newbury Rec first day camp. Camp will take place every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm to 3:30 pnm from June 24th through August 12th. Camp location will rotate by week between Fishersfield Park and the Newbury Harbor Town Dock. Ages 5-12 are welcome. Plans to use Velie Playground and the library for a rain program.Travis is planning to be Life Guard Certified. .
Wellness Day was a huge success. 37 people were fed. People requested more of the wellness program. Discussion on possibility of a quarterly Wellness Day, benefitting all different people.
Plans are in the works for a Golf Tournament in the Fall.
