MINUTES OF JUNE 1, 2009 MEETING
Selectmen: James Powell and Gary Budd.
Town Personnel: Dennis Pavlicek, Town Administrator; Donna Long, Administrative Assistant; Bob Lee, Police Chief; Henry Thomas, Fire Chief; Deb Lacombe, Administrative Assistant; Aaron Sparks, Police Officer; Linda Plunkett, Town Clerk
Public: Ernest Rousseau and Kassandra Rousseau
The meeting convened at 6:30 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board of Selectmen signed an appointment letter for Ernest Rousseau to be a full-time police office in the town. Town Clerk Linda Plunkett was available to swear in Ernie into his new position.
The Board reviewed two bids to do repair work to the Veterans Hall. A decision has not been made at this time.
Pavlicek read a response letter from the attorney for LSPA regarding the Wild Goose site.
Pavlicek read a letter from the South Newbury Union Church requesting permission to hold a raffle on church grounds on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The Board approved this request.
Pavlicek read a report from Stantec for the test wells in the old landfill.
Pavlicek read an invitation to the Selectmen from New London Hospital for an appreciation dinner on June 18th.
LSPA sent a letter requesting $5,000 for the prevention of invasive milfoil on Lake Sunapee.
Pavlicek read an email from Elliot Hansen asking Paul LaCasse to check into a property that he currently has on the market. He wants to be sure that a garage with an apartment on the second floor received proper approval. The Board suggested LaCasse look into this.

REGULAR BUSINESS:
PAYROLL & ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Week ending May 30, 2009 were approved and signed.
MINUTES: Minutes of May 18, 2009 were approved to file.
ABATEMENTS/REFUNDS/EXEMPTIONS: An abatement for Bolyn Land Investments,
Map/Lot # 032-037-333 in the amount of $779 was approved.
REPORT OF CUT: A timber tax levy for Peter Moore, Map/Lot #034-092-064 was
signed.
CURRENT USE: None
INTENT TO CUT: An intent to cut for Pickman Development, Map/Lot #052-607-064
was approved.
MEETING ADJOURNED at 7:20 p.m.
NEXT REGULAR MEETING: Monday, June 15, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
