NEWBURY BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MINUTES OF AUGUST 10, 2009 MEETING
Selectmen: James Powell, Richard Wright and Gary Budd.
Town Personnel: Dennis Pavlicek, Town Administrator; Donna Long, Administrative Assistant
The meeting convened at 6:30 p.m.
APPOINTMENTS:
None
PUBLIC INPUT:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
Powell stated that in a discussion with Family Services Director Gail Bostic, he was informed that the food bank is very low. Powell said that the word should go out to the public in hopes that some donations can be made to the food pantry.
The sewer tax warrant for 2009 was signed.
A temporary sign permit for Robert and Julianne Morancy has been denied and a cease and desist will be placed on the sign they have on their property.
An approval to cut in the Buffer Zone for Arnold and Anne Wood, Map/Lot# 017-585-371.
A discussion took place regarding the regulation of temporary signs. Wright suggested a sticker be placed on all authorized temporary signs so that the Building Inspector will know when they expire. Pavlicek will discuss this with Paul LaCasse.
Three bids were opened for the work to be done for the Town Office Parking Lot Expansion project. The winning bid went to Clarke and Company from Wilmot.
There was a brief discussion on the transfer station and the improvements the Board would like to see take place.
REGULAR BUSINESS:
PAYROLL & ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Week ending August 8, 2009 were approved and signed.
MINUTES: Minutes of July 29, 2009 were approved to file. Minutes of the Summer
Informational Meeting of August 1, 2009 were approved to file.
INTENT TO CUT: The Board signed an Intent to Cut for Michael Webster, Map/Lot #

040-318-385 and 041-084-309. An Intent to Cut for Joshua, Matthew and Amanda Klein,
Map/Lot #049-416-095 was also approved.
