NEWBURY BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MINUTES OF OCTOBER 5, 2009 MEETING
Selectmen: James Powell, Richard Wright and Gary Budd.

Public: Tim Gove
The meeting convened at 6:30 p.m.
APPOINTMENTS:
Tim Gove approached the Board on behalf of the Snowmobile Club to see if the snowmobile trail could be slightly altered to avoid the newly expanded parking lot at the town office. The Selectmen and Gove went outside to look at the proposed area of change. Powell told Gove to speak to abutters Joshua Perkins and the Center Meeting House. If they approve of the change, the Selectmen will also approve.
PUBLIC INPUT:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
Police Chief Lee stated that he would like the Town Office parking lot to have one way traffic flow for the entire lot. All cars would enter from Route 103 and would exit onto Fishersfield Road. The Board agreed with this proposed idea. Signs will be made to let people know of the new traffic pattern. The lot by the library will be resealed and lines will be painted in a diagonal manner, so the flow will work better. Pavlicek will contact the library trustees to let them know of the new traffic flow.
Pavlicek read a request from LSPA requesting $5,000 for their 2010 budget. The information will be included in the budget workbook for the upcoming year. A budget request from the Red Cross was also read.
A letter from PSNH was read informing the town that four street lights will be removed, as per Newbury’s request.
A petition from Linda Newell was read in regard to paving Newell Road. Two bids were read for the new roof at the Transfer Station. The bid went to Sweet Shelters.
