Safety Services Building Project

2015 Safety Services and Additional Town Center Building Feasibility/ Concept Study

At the March 2015 Town Meeting, the town approved $60,000 for a concept study with survey and geometrical study for new safety services facilities.

A Bald Sunapee safety Services Committee (BSSSBC) was formed to recommend to the board of Selectmen a firm to conduct the studies. The BSSSBC included two Newbury resident engineers (Alex Azodi & Ron Williams), one Newbury resident contractor (Bob Messenger) and two Newbury Citizens (Ken Tentarelli & Ed Thorson). After extensive RFQs, the BSSSBC reviewed all respondents and then recommended to the board of Selectmen the firm of Dennis Mires P.A., The Architects from Manchester, NH. The Board of selectmen agreed with the BSSSBC and and retained Dennis Mires P.A., The Architects on August 24, 2015.

The Board of Selectmen will oversee the concept studies with continuing support of the BSSSBC. There will be many public meetings throughout the process and opportunities for public comment. It is expected that the feasibility/concept study conclusion will be in 2016. Information on the project will be posted below.

The Committee's Final Report presented to the Board of Selectmen on January 11, 2016 is found below.
