Town of Newbury Transfer Station Fee Schedule

 

Transfer Station Permits are required and need to be displayed.

Permits are available at the town office.


Hours

Mondays - 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.​​

Wednesdays - 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Saturdays & Sundays - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Fees apply for disposal of the waste categories below. Fees are paid by cash or check. Please see attendant. 

 

Construction and Demolition (C&D)

Includes furniture, insulation, painted wood, painted sheet rock, shingles, tar paper, other building materials. C&D waste must be broken down completely. Contractors are encouraged to obtain demo boxes. No box springs, mattress or upholstered furniture is accepted.

FEES:  $30 per half or small pick-up

            $50 per full-size pick-up

            $60 per one-ton truck

Loads larger than a one-ton truck cannot be accepted.

 

Appliances

Fee $10 - Stoves, heaters, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, convection ovens, water heaters

Fee $25 - Air Conditioning, Refrigerator/Freezer (doors must be removed), humidifiers

Fee $3   - Propane Tanks (20lbs.)

No fee for disassembled lawn mowers, gas grills and similar small items.

 

Tires without rims

Fee $3   - Less than 16” 

Fee $10 - 16” and greater 

Tractor tires cannot be accepted.

 

Electronics (TVs, Computer components)

Fee $10 - TVs & Monitors less than 19”

Fee $20 - Console TVs and screens larger than 19

Fee $5   - Printers, Modems

Fee $10 - Stereo Systems 

Fee $5   - VCRs, table radios, DVD players, satellites, cassette players 

 

No Fluids are accepted here, including gasoline, oil, antifreeze


Town of Newbury Transfer Station Recycling

 

There are no fees for disposing of the following materials

Paper Goods

Junk mail, magazines, newspaper, box board, cardboard inserts, telephone books, mixed office and classroom paper, post-it notes, brown bags, fax paper, gift wrapping (non-metallic), 6-pack carriers. 

Do not include - foil products, blueprint paper, juice boxes, carbo paper, milk or dairy containers, waxed or polycoated boxes.

Cardboard

Please flatten cartons and boxes and place them on the pile inside the Transfer Station building.  

Cans and Plastic

Aluminum cans (beer and soft drink) should be placed in the barrelsinside the facility.                     

Tin cans and plastic marked #1 (PETE) and #2 (HDPE) (including milk and water bottles) should be placed in the outdoor free-standing container.  It is not necessary to separate them from tin cans.

 

Batteries

Please see attendant.                   

 

Glass

Place in barrel, remove corks, lids and screw tops.

 

Leaves  

Loose leaves (removed from bags or containers) should be placed on the compost pile.  Do not mix with brush or any other type of debris.
