JOINT LOSS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

MINUTES OF October 16, 2019

Members Present: Debi Lacombe, Wayne Whitford, Cal Prussman, Tate Sweetbrown, Lea McBain, Deb Prussman, & Hank Thomas.  Others Present: Mark Wichtermann

Meeting convened at the Newbury Police Station at 9 am.

The minutes from the meeting of August 21, 2019 were read & approved.

Hank took a look at the door in the Children’s Room at the Library.  He said it would be a big project and considering the planned expansion he felt that it should be left alone for now.  There is a window close to the ground that could be used in an emergency.  The suggestion was made to practice using the window as an emergency escape.

The playground equipment has been removed at Fishersfield by the Highway Department.

No feedback from the Selectboard on security cameras.  Debi Lacombe received a quote from Capital Alarm.  Very expensive.  Hank mentioned that he purchased 2 cameras that need to be installed.  She was going to contact another vendor that was recommended by CCI.

Starting January 1, 2020 no public meetings will be held in the back meeting room.

Lea mentioned having push bars put on the auto doors at the Library.  The back door should also have one.

The front lobby door hasn’t been secure.  The suggestion was made to change the locks.

Hank mentioned that the safety at the Transfer Station has been better.  Mark suggested putting up a fence to keep people out when it is closed.  There are cameras there but no storage on them.  He caught people after hours on Monday.  Cal mentioned jersey barriers or pile more blocks.  There was a DES inspection & waiting for the report to come back.

First aid kits have been ordered.  Mark mentioned that one is needed at the Transfer Station also.

There has been one accident since the last meeting with a light injury.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 am.

Next meeting on December 11th at the Town Office at noon.
