Town of Newbury Ordinance Use of Town Docks & Parking at Town-Owned Public Areas on Lake Sunapee
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any persons to congregate on foot or in vehicles at the public parking areas at Newbury Town docks on Lake Sunapee between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.
Section 2. No dogs, bicycles, skate boards, furniture, or playing of any games will be allowed on the Newbury Town docks.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicles of any kind for more than two hours on the Esplanade at the town beach, in the vicinity of the town dock, and or on town property at Bell Cove. Further, it shall be unlawful to park or tie up any boat at the town dock for more than a two-hour period.
Section 4. It shall be unlawful to park or tie up a boat at any dock between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.
Any person violating the provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of $50 for the first violation and $100 for the second violation. A Third violation of Section 3 or 4 will result in a court appearance , as well as towing and storage fees. If a vehicle or boat is found in violation as first offense, it shall be subject to the penalty of a second violation if not moved within four hours from the time of the first offense.
Traffic Ordinance
Sec. 90-14. Obstruction of streets
No person shall stop a vehicle in such a way as to obstruct any street or crosswalk except in an accident or when directed to do so by a police officer. Vehicles may stop as long as reasonably necessary in a lane of traffic to load or unload passengers or freight, provided other vehicles may reasonably pass around them, except as provided in this chapter. No such vehicle may be left unattended for more than five minutes.
SECTION 90-40. PARKING
Sec. 90-41. Prohibited areas
It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park a motor vehicle at any time contrary to any of the following unless otherwise directed by a police officer:
On a public sidewalk.
On a public crosswalk.
Within an intersection.
In front of or close to a public or private driveway, whether on the same side of the street as the driveway entrance or on the opposite side, if it inhibits use of the driveway.
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or sprinkler head.
Within 30 feet of an intersecting street unless otherwise posted and authorized in this Code.
Within 75 feet of a fire station entrance.
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such parking will obstruct traffic.
Upon any bridge or elevated structure upon a highway.
At any place where official signs prohibit or regulate parking, standing or stopping.
Within any designated fire lane.
On the road side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of any street.
On a roadway lined or designated for two-way traffic, where the vehicle is parallel parked, closest to and facing the opposite direction of designated travel.
On a roadway designated as one-way traffic, where the vehicle is parked facing opposite the designated direction of travel.
On the travel portion of any roadway so as to obstruct the movement of traffic in the travel lane.
On a public way when any wheel of a parked vehicle is beyond the painted lines in the roadway.
In any place on town property where official signs prohibit or regulate parking, standing or stopping.
Upon any public way when the principal purpose is displaying the vehicle for sale.
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk.
In a designated loading or unloading zone.
In zones designated for handicapped parking, unless such vehicle displays a valid permit for such parking issued from a recognized government authority.
SECTION 90-640. SPEED LIMITS
Sec. 90-641. Maximum speed established
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on a town-owned public way in the town at a speed greater than 30 miles per hour unless otherwise provided by sections of this chapter.
Sec. 90-642. Twenty-five miles per hour
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on the following public ways in the town at a speed greater than 25 miles per hour:

Bowles Road
Brats Cove
Lake Avenue
Mountainside Road
Pine Street
Post Office Street
Ramblewood Drive
Ramblewood Circle
Ramblewood Place
Sunlight Lane
Village Road
Washington Street
Winding Brook Road
