Public:

Mr. Finneral called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Newbury Housing Committee:

Barbara Freeman, chair of the Newbury Housing Committee gave an update on the Newbury Housing Committee. She said they are looking at how we can allow more diversity in the housing types in Town. The next public meeting for the Town is to review all the background material they have done and receive feedback from the residents. Ms. Freeman distributed a draft outline for the July 26th Newbury Housing Forum. Ms. Freeman said Steve Whitman did a housing audit and she can forward it to the members of the Planning Board. She also reported that there might be a need to hire engineers to see if the suggestions that are made can actually be done.

Mr. Finneral asked for some help to fill in the blanks in the grant proposal created by the Newbury Housing Committee (written by Chris Hernick). The members will fill in whatever they can before the next Housing Committee meeting.

Planning Board Member Roles – Mr. Finneral proposed that each month another member will help him with what needs to be done for prep work prior to the meeting.

Mr. Finneral asked the Board members if they still want to have a Joint Board Meeting on Thursday, June 24 or if they would like to hold off. The members decided to meet on Thursday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Finneral said that if any of the members had any agenda items, to email the land use coordinator with their suggestions.

Discussion took place regarding a conceptual case that appeared before the Planning Board a couple of months ago and they did not follow the advice of the Board. The property owners then went to the Board of Selectmen and approved the project. Mr. Stanley said enforcement is left to either the Board of Selectmen or the Code Enforcement Officer.
